I have never, in my life, read a poem that ended with the words
The End.

Why is that, I wonder.
I think perhaps the brevity of poems compared to novels makes one feel
that there has been no great sustention of energy,
no marathon worthy of pulling tape across the finish line.



在我的生活中,我从来没有读过一首以 "终" 为结束语的诗。
我很想知道、为什么会这样呢。
我想,也许与小说相比,诗歌的简短让人觉得没有巨大的精力消耗,
就像一场不值得拉带子过终点线的马拉松。
